Works & Maintenance

Highways

Do we have any roads/pavements for that required maintenance?
Deadline Friday 5 October (for our Councillor Barbara Blake to submit)

There is no guarantee that everything we submit will be done, but if we don’t submit, we may have nothing

Please send via Vartry Mutual Aid WhatsApp or the Contact Us form on this website

The Council is now commencing the annual process of identifying the highways works and maintenance programme for the next financial year and need suggestions for any roads, pavements, street lighting, traffic and other areas of work which may need maintenance or improvements.

When sending in suggestions and requests, please include:

  • Road name and relevant section of the road (e.g. between house numbers 12 – 24)
  • Type of work (e.g. road or pavement repairs, drainage, street lighting, traffic management & other highways issues.
  • Brief details of work required (photos can help)

If it is dangerous…

Please report it urgently using the Council’s reporting system

The Council highways team prioritises the future maintenance works programme considering the needs for these works, which will be principally based upon the condition of the asset. They appreciate this can be disappointing, when some roads may not be on the priority list for future works. Available resources guide them on how many schemes can be carried out in next year’s highways works programme, which will commence from April 2025.
