Triangle Centre N15 Parents Forum - Save Our Nurture Room

Save our Nurture Room

Haringey Council has decided to close 0-2 years provision in the Nurture Room at the Triangle Centre with immediate effect.

This will result in a huge shortfall of places for young children in N15, and is implementing fee increases of over 70%, being delivered with only 7 weeks’ notice and putting prices sharply above local rates from September.

Sign the petition:

We call on Haringey Council to:
- re-instate provision for under twos at Triangle
- suspend fee increases pending a full consultation with parents in order to assess the full impact on families and agree a fee increase that is reasonable and in line with other local provision

In the N15 area, the second most deprived in Haringey, there is already a shortage of childcare provision for children under two with long waiting lists. The Triangle Centre with its excellent staff and facilities offers high quality, affordable early years education to local children. Haringey Council has a responsibility to continue providing childcare options for working parents by keeping the Nurture Room open and services affordable for all local residents. The outlined changes, if they go ahead unchanged, will have a profound adverse effect on many families and their young children, and call into question the long-term sustainability of this nursery at the heart of our local community.
